Greenhills NCT Centre officially opened:
The Minister for Transport, Mr Noel Dempsey T.D officially opened the new NCT Centre in Greenhills, Tallaght, Dublin 24, this now brings the total number of NCTS centres nationwide to 46. The Greenhills centre consisting of 5 lanes is the fourth test centre in the Dublin Region and will serve people from South Dublin, West Wicklow and North Kildare. E-Mark on Tyres:
An e-mark confirms that the tyre meets the minimum agreed standard in relation to its dimensions, load and speed rating. Click here for more information and to find out why it is important to have e-marked tyres.
New changes to the NCT
With effect from the 1st April 2010, an additional 7 items will be added to the National Car Test.

From the 1st January 2010, the owner/ presenter of the vehicle will be required to produce a form of identification (Driving Licence or Passport only) when presenting the vehicle for inspection at the Test Centre.
The SPSV vehicle licensing service will cease to operate from NCT centres from the 23rd December 2009. From the 4th January 2010, this service will now transfer to a new network of 37 Regional Centres operated by SGS Ireland on behalf of the commission. Did you know that from the 1st May 2009, driving a car without a valid NCT may attract up to five penalty points in addition to any fine imposed upon conviction in Court, for more information regarding the NCT and penalty points please refer to the Road Safety Authority or Penalty Points.
